Aponogeton crispus – Ruffled Sword Aquarium Plant

Aponogeton crispus is a graceful bulb plant known for its long, narrow leaves with softly ruffled edges. Its flowing foliage adds movement and texture to a freshwater aquarium, making it a lovely centerpiece or background plant.

New leaves grow from the bulb and gradually unfurl into delicate, wavy foliage. Aponogeton crispus does well with moderate lighting and a nutrient-rich substrate. It can grow quite tall, so allow room for its leaves to spread.

You will receive: 1 Aponogeton crispus bulb or sprouted plant, depending on its current growth stage

  • Mature leaf length: Up to approximately 20 inches

Planting Instructions

Place the bulb in the substrate with the growing point facing upward and positioned at the substrate surface. Avoid burying the sprout. A nutrient-rich substrate or occasional root tab can support healthy growth.

Aponogeton crispus may naturally enter a dormant period and temporarily lose its leaves. This does not necessarily mean the bulb has died. Leave a firm bulb undisturbed and allow time for new growth to return.

Live plants vary naturally in size, color and leaf count. Minor bending, leaf loss or melting can occur after shipping while the plant adjusts to new aquarium conditions.
