Why Keep Dairy Cow Isopods?
Their spotted appearance and enthusiastic feeding make Dairy Cows a rewarding species for beginners and experienced keepers. Keep them in a dedicated colony or add them to a compatible bioactive setup.
Basic Care
Care level: Easy
- Provide a ventilated enclosure with nutritious substrate, leaf litter, and cork bark.
- Keep one side moist and the other side drier so they can choose their preferred conditions.
- Keep leaf litter available at all times.
- Supplement with small portions of vegetables and protein-rich isopod food.
- Provide a calcium source, such as cuttlebone.
- Remove uneaten supplemental food before it molds.
Enclosure Compatibility
Dairy Cows have strong appetites and reproduce quickly. Choose tankmates carefully, especially around eggs, hatchlings, and delicate animals.
