Start a live feeder culture of Peanut Beetles (Ulomoides dermestoides). The colony produces small, soft-bodied larvae that can be fed to appropriately sized fish, dart frogs, and other small insect-eating animals.
Use the larvae as feeders and keep the adult beetles in the culture to maintain the colony. Keep the culture in a dark, dry, well-ventilated container at 70–80°F. Unsalted peanuts are their main food; oats can also be included.
