Monte Carlo is a popular foreground plant known for its small, rounded green leaves and ability to form a lush carpet across the aquarium substrate. Its compact growth adds a soft, natural appearance to planted tanks and aquascapes.

Each portion comes established in a small pot, providing multiple rooted growth points that can be separated and planted throughout the foreground. Moderate to bright lighting encourages shorter, denser growth. CO₂ is helpful for faster carpeting but is not required.

Planting Instructions

Carefully remove the plant from its pot and rinse away the growing material. Divide it into several small plugs and plant them approximately 1–2 inches apart. The plugs will gradually spread and fill the open spaces.

Regular trimming encourages compact horizontal growth. Without added CO₂ or sufficient light, Monte Carlo may grow more slowly or reach upward instead of forming a dense carpet.

Live plants may vary naturally in size, fullness and color. Minor leaf loss or melting can occur after shipping while the plant adjusts to submerged aquarium growth.
