Dwarf Hairgrass is a popular foreground aquarium plant with fine, grass-like blades that can spread into a lush green carpet under the right conditions. Its compact growth makes it an excellent choice for planted tanks, shrimp aquariums, nano tanks, and aquascapes.
Choose Your Quantity:
• 1 potted plant
• 3 potted plants
For best results, carefully remove the plant from the pot and gently remove as much rock wool as possible without damaging the roots. Separate the plant into several small plugs and plant them approximately 1–2 inches apart throughout the foreground. The plugs will gradually spread by runners as they become established.
Care Information:
• Care Level: Easy to moderate
• Lighting: Medium to high
• Placement: Foreground
• Growth Rate: Slow to moderate
• CO₂: Not required, but beneficial
Moderate to strong lighting encourages denser, more compact growth.
Beneficial Items Available in Our Shop:
• Root Tabs: Provide nutrients through the substrate and are especially helpful when planting in sand, gravel, or another nutrient-poor substrate.
• Plant Weights: Can help keep freshly planted plugs anchored while they develop roots, particularly in tanks with active fish or stronger water flow.
Please Note: Some blades may bend, yellow, or melt after shipping or planting while the plant adjusts to its new environment. This is normal. Trim away damaged growth as needed, and healthy new blades and runners should develop as the roots become established.
